Hi there. I am trying to forward port 80 and 6036 on a belkin router, for a CCTV DVR.

The router address is 192.168.2.1

I have made the DVR 192.168.2.50.

When I try forward the ports to ip 50, it says it's not a valid WAN IP...

Help?!?!

Ive always found http://portforward.com/ to be a good place to start if you're unsure - just be sure to skip the ad in the top right hand corner once you've selected the router model.

If your DVR application is not listed - just take something generic and substitute the relevant steps with the right ports for your scenario.

Thanks. I have actually managed to specify the ports needed for the correct IP, but when I check the ports from portforward it says they not open??? I'm really confused! I'm pretty IT capable and have setup remote viewing before for a DVR, and NEVER had issues like this...
