Hi

I have a situation and wonder if there is any workaround

I have a program on my PC which needs port 8080 (this port can't be changed) to be opened for the Application to work on my android

So I don't worry too much about the LTE ISP to provide a static IP, I can use DDNS to update the public IP address.

What I've tried thus far without any success:

MTN -
Axxess Fixed LTE
Vox Fixed LTE

MTN Business LTE

Vodacom Business LTE

No coverage for Telkom LTE

None of the above could've successfully assist with opening port 8080
The best response I got was from Vodacom Business (Managed to open other ports, but not 8080)

Any advice?

Connect to something like port 8000 or whatever port you choose on the wan interface and port forward that to 8080 on the inside IP ? Shouldn't that work ?

So :

WAN IP ( 8000 ) ------>PC IP ( 8080 )

Port 8080, are you trying to open up for Limewire? :)
I had a look at a question like this the other day, there's security issues/concerns with that port, plus some routers don't allow it either, I doubt you're gonna come right with this one.
