I want to do remote assistance

Thanks
DD

If you ever get it working let me know.

I tried Port Forwarding on the 105 and came out with grey hairs.

So if any one knows would be good to find out where i went wrong.

well I did some brief googling and I didnt find much.... just some posts of members having trouble setting it up!

maybe time to buy a new router?? ;)

I have that router, it's very easy to set up. I'd have to be at home to find out exactly but it's under virtual servers option or something to that effect. Can give you specifics this evening.

Quite easy with that router. I dont own a Mega router but set it up for several clients. Go to Advanced settings, then port forwarding.

Your pc's ip has to be added as a lan client, then its just a matter of adding the available ports from the left to right, by clicking on the arrow. If the port you want to use is not in that list, just create a custom port, u just enter a name for the port, and the port number, if its a single port, just enter the same number as the start and end port.

whats your ip address of the router and what are u using for remote assistance / connections : Microsoft remote Desktop Protocol ? VNC ? etc ?

If you give me the username and password for the router I can set it up for you if you want ? hmmmmmm ;-)

I Used to have the mega 100 and port forwarding worked without an issues... the router went on the blink and Telkom Replaced it witht he 105. since then never been able to get port forwarding to work...

but will try again and add my pc as a lan client, for some reason that does not ring a very big bell in my head that i did that. but will give it a bash tonight again and see what happens

I tried the portforwarding on the mega 105wr and it didnt work. Tried everything possible. Did a port check and that works but the damn modem wouldnt forward my port. Any one succeeded with this .Pls post a solution. The mega 100 worked light a charm but was struck by lightning
