Port Time

I'm currently on Virgin prepaid and have taken out a contract with MTN and am going to port the number over. I filled out all the forms and did everything last week Friday (5 June).

So I went in 2 days ago and they say everything ready except they waiting for the port to be approved. How long does it take to port a number? They won't give me the phone in the meantime even though they know I'm credit worthy etc. because they have to wait for the port but how long can that be?

I had this number on Vodacom before I went to Virgin and that port took about 12 hours.

When I did my port from virgin to mtn contract it was approved very fast, think it was one day, cause it was virgin prepaid, same like you. Then I got my mtn sim, just had to make a call to mtndirect, and then it was like 12 hours. Maybe stay on their case, I learnt in the past that works best.

I've been going back to them but they keep saying the problem isn't with them, they've got wait for it at the porting side...
