Yes I know its a simple procedure to port to Cell C. I bought a Cell C starter pack and RICA'd it. Didn't open it. SMS'd the serial number from my voda sim to the 084 number provided and got a delivery report.
This was Monday evening and still nothing. My vodacom sim still works as normal.

Please help someone ...

Apparently it is IMPOSSIBLE, nevermind "simple"....

I was on Autopage (Cell C). After my contract ended I tried to port from there to RBM (Cell C). It's been almost 4 months now and still nothing. I refuse to believe that porting a number from Cell C network to Cell C network can take 4 months...so I place the blame squarly on Autopage.
Incidentally, Autopage now wants to take me to the laywers because of outstanding fees. Which is kinda' funny, seeing that I PAID everything as well as a cancellation fee of R5. I explicitly confirmed with their cancellations department that my account was settled in full and also confirmed with them that the R5 cancellation fee was received (4 months ago). It is, it was.
This month I start getting threats from them about not paying my account, which was the last billing amount -even though I have not been with them for 4 months!!! Out of NOWHERE!
Seriously...SERIOUSLY?!

So I've just given up on the porting thing. Fck it. It's less hassle to just inform EVERYONE my number's changed.
As for Autopage...heads are going to roll....

A few months back I ported my number from Virgin Mobile to CellC. What I did was send them an email[[email protected]] and a Contact Request from their site(didnt have airtime to send an sms and was not gonna buy R10 airtime just so I can send 1 sms). It took around a week for the port to complete. So I'd suggest u send them an email as well.

That's strange, I've ported 3 numbers from Vodacom prepaid to Cell C prepaid. Took around 6 hours for the Vodacom SIM to die.

Keep SMSing the "RICA serial No" on the "Credit card" starter pack and switching off the phone and switching on the phone.

Yoh, could it be that it was from Cellc AutoPage to Cellc SP.
I also want to port from MTN Autopage to MTN SP.

Yup exactly. Autopage Cell C to RBM Cell C. What baffles me most is that it's all on the Cell C network. Granted, I know very little about how it all actually works, but still COME! ON!
Jebus! Sell your soul to satan to get away from Autopage if you can -waaaaay less hassles than dealing with the devol himself!
