Portable Power Stations

Dumb question for those with the EcoFlow devices,
Which one of these would behave like the Ellies 720W / 1200VA in terms of being able to actually play PC games for an hour and a half with no issues ?

That's like asking how long is a piece of string. Are you playing on a laptop or a desktop? How demanding are the games you play? What components do you have? It's impossible to answer without knowing how many watts you're pulling.

Stick your PC into a killawatt for 1.5 hours then you will know how many Wh you need.

^^^ So much this!

I am also looking to get one of these as well because I am no longer sure that my smart plugs are correctly reporting usage. Geewiz seems to have them at the best price currently.

My bad, I forgot laptops can also play PC games (else they'd be called laptop games I guess)
It is a PC in this instance playing COD: MW2 / WZ2

Rather go with a killawatt as it gives peak power wattage, these smart plugs just show Wh and W that updates every few seconds.

Has anyone heard anything from Anker ZA re the release into the local market of their LifePo4 Powerhouse Stations? They're available in the UK at 240v and it seems like a great product - with GaN fast-charge tech built-in and quiet fans. Comes in 2048Wh with expansion abilities and 1229Wh.

From a quick Google search, they don't sell any of their high-end stuff here.

Thanks for responding.
I did a search too and it seems to only be available via Trekkin.com, which is dodgy. Thought maybe the connected researchers here may have more info as it seems like a great product; designed for long-term performance with high quality internals.

Trekkin.com isn't a local site AFAIK. I wouldn't risk it.

That power station looks good but Anker made such a rookie mistake with those exposed xt60 connectors, one has to wonder what other oversight / design flaws there is that are yet to be discovered...

Pre-orders are open for Delta 2 here:

March / April.

Stock on these will probably sell like hot cakes.
Hope so
Price may change hopefully lower but the rand is doing a nose dive this week time will tell. No RRP on these yet

and yes i am on here :)

Another Brand is coming in May (hopefully)

Zendure although busy listing them on the site i must confirm when i get a chance that i have the right info on them as we getting the "newer" models from what i gathered at the CTICC event.
Pricing doesnt seem bad currently time will tell May is just 3 months away.
So hopefully if i finish over the weekend and confirm monday it is correct you can check it out. Backorders will only open once i have a proper ETA and Pricing on them and closer to the time.
As for the new Gizzu's im not 100% sure when the new batch is coming i know why the delay which is good but hopefully all these come before Winter truly starts.
I know there is a shortage on MC4 to XT60 Cables of ecoflow actually looking at making them since SA models didnt come with them.

Hobotech reviewed some of thier models. I'm
Keen to see which ones we are getting and potential pricing.

If you don't have access to ine if these

You can also query the prepaid meter if you have one

ie dont play games get momentary usage

Fire uo the game do yhe same again

This is problematic though
Since the fridge or other devices could be kicking in messing with your measurement

Hence multiple queries may be needed to

Not fun though running to the prepaid meter all the time

Mine has a wireless device so makes it easier

I realise this is perhaps too technical or 'whatever' for many, but I'm a bit concerned about the efficiency of my trolley UPS.
At this stage I'm not sure if it is to be expected, or if there is a problem with my UPS or one/both of my batteries (2x100Ah 12V Lifepo4).

I did a loadtest on it yesterday and could only get 1.52kWh out of it before it tripped. Load was only 12% of full load.
My batteries are supposed to be 12.7x2x100=2.54kWh.
It took 3.47kWh to fully recharge afterwards without a load.
My rate in Tshwane is about R2.70/kWh.
So it cost me 2.70x3.47=R9.34 to charge and only provided 2.70x1.52=R4.10.
That seems terribly inefficient.

Losses in the UPS should be conversion and cooling losses. Surely these can't be more than 50%?!

Attached is an article about the issue, for those interested

It would be JUST to support my PC, laptop and LTE router + Mikrotik fibre router

What inverter is it?

How are you measuring?
I've got a Sonoff pwr r2 and a Sonoff Elite in series before and after the UPS.

pwr r2 gives daily kWh and Elite gives hourly kWh

I started the test at 00:00 and when UPS tripped, I compared pwr r2 and Elite data, which was within 2% of each other
