My Vodacom contract with Nashua Mobile is coming to an end, if I wanted to port to Vodacom SP is that possible? I remember at some stage you couldn't port between SP's on the same network, only to a different network, is that sorted now?

You can definitely port to any company you like. Nashua, just like many other companies are only a VAR (Value Added Reseller) of Vodacom. They really only manage your account & billing. so you're free to port to anyone you like, even MTN

I know, I just remember initially you could port to another network, e.g. MTN or Cell C but not a different SP within Vodacom, wondering if that's changed.

@Syndyre, I suspect NM might kick up a fuss and use delaying tactics, maybe v3g can help offline if necessary.

If all else fails, try downgrading to pre-paid, and then take your pre-paid MSISDN over to VSP and have it converted to contract with & by VSP...

Probably, I'm due for upgrade now with NM but I think the actual contract only expires in Jan or Feb next year so I could only port then. Haven't really had any problems with them but I could probably get a better phone from VSP and it just seems to be easier to be with the network's actual service provider. Just wanted to make sure it is possible, otherwise there's no point in waiting till next year, may as well upgrade with NM now.
