I tried porting my number to Vodacom from MTN, but then MTN has to approve.
Now I got a decline stating:

Your request to port your number to Vodacom was received by your network but was unfortunately declined : MNP - account type mismatch

WTF?

yip .. I had the same issue. Just ensure the MTN account number you give the Vodacom people is entered in correctly and it is in the correct case. I think it rejected mine cause the dude typed in a-129210 and it was suppose to be A-129210.

my 2c or rather .. My 2c ;)

Hi there

did you come right? If not pop me a pm with your details and il send it off to one of my porting guyssss to attend to.
Bear in mind that you would have to be registered with MTNSP (MTEL), if its with autopage or Nashua i cant assist sadly:cry:

I cancelled contract. Prepaid is the way to go.
Again. MTN - you are the weakest link, goodbye!

Or in Afrikaans. Julle is dof, XXX-of

My Brother was a loyal MTN subscriber, but after 6 years on the same number he decided to port to vodacom

now there is some kind of glitch, cause when we call him we get crossed lines
50% we reach him, but the other 50% we reach Susen in capetown
my brother and Susen both have the same number,
except my brother is 083 *** **** and Susan is 082 *** ****
somehow vodacom's system can't tell them apart

Managed to port last night. So far so good.
And whilst I found VC call quality not that clear, I have to admit that not once did I have to wait in line when calling any of the help numbers. Not only did they answer quickly, they knew exactly how to help me too!

Even though they said after my activation it takes 1 hour for this, 4 hours for that and 24 hours for something else (too much info at that point, I switched off), everything worked from the word go. Setting up voicemail to loading airtime.

Thank goodness for MNP! I can keep my number and ditch the service provider. MTN - If you want loyalty, get a dog!

Im sorry to see you go:(, i hope that your future experiences with your new service provider will be satisfactory.

A pleasant christmas and new year to you:)

I have now 3 service providers.
VC - South Africa, Vodaphone Australia and Optus.

Don't get me started on the rather inflexible 'options' in OZ...
They can learn a thing or 2 from South Africa.

I hope we wont see you in the Vodacom thread (that just means that I hope you wont need it) but if you do, I hope we can help you in the Vodacom thread.
