Porting from MTN

The deal is definitely good. I have been on the iPhone 4 deal for over 2 years with MTN. The CellC straight up deals with 500mb data is way better.

If only I can start using it ...

Can the CellC guy on this forum help?

Hi,

Send us your cellc sim card number and the MTN number.

Has anyone recently ported from MTN to CellC. It seems that CellC's deals are cheaper and offer more value for money - i.e. this deal below:

Basic questions:
- What's their coverage and signal strength like (Joburg Northern suburbs)
- How is their data connectivity (i.e. with MTN I hardly ever get 3G - Fourways, Bryanston)

Any reason why I shouldn't port?

No reason at all, they are just fishing for you guys. dont go where the wind blows.....

Btw. Just an update for info.

My port went through on Friday night. I signed up at the CellC store on Thursday morning. Total of about 32 hours between.

It also depends when the store guy actually puts the process in motion

CellC has some great offers.

I live in Durban. In my area I get 3G on CellC where MTN only has EDGE.

Yeah that dude seems to be working for MTN or Vodacom,he is bashing Cell C on lots of other threads, maybe the big boys are seeing the danger posed by AKC and Cell C.

MTN has certainly permanently lost me to Cell C,at first I took out a month to month contract for the past six or so months so that I would not be tied in if the network was not adequate but my experience was largely positive so I decided to take out the iphone 5 deal on a 2 year contract.

In and around the JHB/Vereeniging area their 3g network works fine and has good coverage.
