Apologies if this is the wrong thread for this topic but I couldn't find another suitable thread and this matter really is annoying me now. Maybe with more customers aware of this Vodacom will get their act together and fix it.
It all started a few months ago with a work colleague of mine and his new Blackberry on Vodacom, at first if I called his number from my CellC number the lady with the nice voice would tell me this number is not available on the Vodacom network. This resulted with some back and forth between CellC and Vodacom and 'finger pointing' but eventually they fixed it.
Some time later we discovered I was not able to SMS him. He would never get the SMS and on my phone the Reports would say "Pending". We reported this to Vodacom, a week later they said the problem was on CellC, 2 weeks later after a lot of support calls with various CellC agents they said the problem was on Vodacom, another week later and Vodacom are no nearer to fixing this, they say we must take the phone to a Vodacom Customer Care outlet. We did do a few tests in the meantime, and, in our tests, no SMS from either CellC or Virgin is successfully delivered to this particular Vodacom Blackberry phone. Not even an SMS sent from CellC's website is delivered. This problem is therefor not specific to my phone, it is a more general problem and I strongly suspect the problem is at Vodacom. Maybe a little pressure from other customers will get them to sort this out. I am sure this has cost customers quite a bit in undelivered SMS's, fat chance this will be refunded.
