Good Day,

I want to port my existing number to Cell C, I have bought a Supa Bonus Starter Pack from PEP, was Rica'd instore, tried to port via the whatsapp channel, keep receiving an error, I then went on Cell C's website and Rica'd the sim my self, received an email confirming that sim Rica is successful, tried through whatsapp again as well as online but online says that sim needs to be Rica'd.

Thank you for reaching out. We understand your frustration and are here to guide you through the porting process. Please follow the steps below to successfully port your number to Cell C:

  1. Purchase a Cell C Starter Pack.
  2. RICA your new SIM card — proof of residence and ID document/card are required.
  3. From your current donor network SIM card, SMS your new Cell C SIM serial number to 084 767 8287.
  4. An OTP will be sent to your current donor SIM card within 2 hours. You must approve it within 4 hours of receiving it; otherwise, the port will not be processed.
  5. Your port will be completed between 19:30 and 22:30 as per ICASA regulations.
  6. Wait for your old SIM to lose network service, then insert your new Cell C SIM and connect.

Good Day,I have tried the above method 3 times with no luck,did not receive any confirmation sms to verify port.Please help and advise.

  • Whether your new Cell C SIM card has been RICA registered
  • The RICA serial number of the SIM card
  • The mobile number you wish to port to Cell C

Please also ensure that the SMS sent to 084 767 8287 was successfully delivered from your current active SIM card. Kindly note that this SMS is billed, and if it was not sent successfully, the port request will not be processed.
