Hi guys

Wondering if you could assist me.

I currently have an existing contract with Vodacom that is due to expire in 2 months (June 2013). I am really interested in getting the Cell C Straight Up contract for the Galaxy S4.

My question is, can i get the Cell C contract now, and then 2 months down the line port my Vodacom number to the Cell C contract? Not sure if its possible.

Haven't seen any straight forward answer nor response from Cell C after sending them an email.

Regards

Why not get VC to port your number to prepaid. They auto assign another number(MTN can do that). Then move your prepaid number to CC

Thanks for the replies guys.

Do I just phone Vodacom 111 and ask for "my number to be ported to prepaid and assign new number to my existing contract".

Will the VC operators know what I'm talking about.

Regards

Forgot to ask, with regards to the "new number", do I have to purchase a prepaid sim card and then activate. Will I still keep my remaining minutes.

Then do I just go to Cell C and when I sign up ask them to port my "old number".

Thanks

You can go to Cell-C now and ask them to port your current Vodacom number to your new Cell-C contract, you will get a new Cell-C SIM card.
Vodacom will assign a new number to your Vodacom contract and continue billing you for the remainder of your contract, your existing Vodacom SIM will get a new number.
In the last month of your Vodacom contract, you ask Vodacom to convert your number to prepaid and they will schedule this to happen when the contract finishes.

Awesome!

Thanks ginggs.

My hands are itching for the S4. Sorry to say but Vodacom tariff plans suck with the new S4.

Me also thinking of porting to CC from MTN. What I'm worried about is reception. I've heard some horror stories of weak to non-existing signals in areas where VC and MTN works perfectly.
Should one sacrifice better signal for better tariff ??

I'm in one of the major towns so signal is not an issue with me.

Where I work, vodacom and mtn only has edge. Cell c has 3G can you believe it.

Yes - for sure :)

I have a CellC prepaid for backup and get full strength H+ here in Edenvale. I have even used it to play Xbox COD online before when my ADSL was down. Very good.

But honestly, even if signal was k@k I would do it. I use Wifi at home and don't care for calls so the package suits me perfectly.
I use an average of 17 mins a month on my current Vodacom contract and zero SMS's, so data means more to me than anything else.

Ok, so obviously depends on your needs and location. Dunno Edenvale. Is it platteland area?
