Hi all.

Im in the process of revamping our Kodak Express store and want to concert our current POS system (Ulti-sales DOS version) over to the mac. Any suggestions ? I will probaly run it on a mac mini and dont want to break the bank on new software. I will probaly need 2 computers, one with cash drawer for walk in clients and the other one in the lab to enter goods on account.

regards

Moonie

I don't have any experience with POS situations on a Mac, so this may not be terribly useful, but googling for "mac pos" gives plenty of hits.

only one i have seen is lightspeed, but dont think it can be adapted to ur situation

Build-a-bear and Core.. Same people. :) my guess is they use FinCon

Light speed is awesome... I think its worth the investment. :) Download the free trial and see for yourself.. otherwise, Job Pro is pretty good.

Job Pro is about $1300 ! The thing is it must replace Ultisales completely. Will dl and see which one works

I would second checkout, the guys from Sofa + Pico make really nice software

Lightspeed wins hands down. Buy it, use it, you won't be sorry. I use it in our computer retail store and it's worth every cent.:)

it's debtors and creditors... :P and it does a Basic GL but shouldn't be used as your primary accounts system.

Then it wont work since i need to replace my Ultisales completely and i dont want to work on 6 different systems

I don't have international but I would check for open source products first. Im not sure if there is open source POS out there I havent searched yet. If there isn't then theres a chance for some programmers to make name for themselves.

I know that many people consider all the Macs and the softs they run as overpriced POS.

As far as I understand, it does export into quickbooks though... And it has an awesome online Store module... not sure if thats something you'd be interested in. The long and short of it... I'm quite clued up in Job Pro, but I plan to use LightSpeed. Its Slick, MacSexy, Moron Proof, and has GSX integration for those Apple Dealers out there. OH.. and it has CoverFlow :P

Hi everyone

I know this was posted a few years ago but I need help to find someone who can assist with getting LightSpeed into my store. I need a hardware solution and then can download LightSpeed on my own with a subscription account. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as this is the only information I have been able to find via Google so far.

Thank you.
