This thread reminds me of the "Hear no evil, See no evil, Speak no evil" syndrome. Adhere to it then there is no evil. A typical ANC Satire (or as they say in short..Wipe it under the carpet then it does not exist.
How is only looking at positive news going to achieve the above? Ignoring the reality of our situation is probably going to do more harm than good. The "causes" of the bad news needs to be addressed not the news itself.
No, I think that is a bad idea. No point putting all the "good" news in one thread as it isnt conducive to discussion.I think what is meant, is that this thread is reserved for positive news, events and happenings only.
Good news...Gautrain
Bad news....Gautrain because the corruption, lies, cost, timetable and displacements overshadows all good. Get my drift?

If it seems like there's only bad news in there its probably because that is what people are posting. Unfortunately there is preponderance of bad news in mainstream media because it sells - you might need to dig a bit harder to find the good stuff.
If you have news post it in the News & Current Affairs section. A balanced news section benefits everyone.
Just as mature of you not to follow the stories since its inception. Again do yourself a favour and google the information then you can read all about the people displaced, allocation of contracts, delays as in will not be complete by 2010, only sections of it and of little use to the 2010 travelers etc, etc.
By the way I can make any statement. You can refute or believe what you want but I do not have to alaborate to you at all, My DAD died years ago and I am sure I could have been your grandpa.
balanced . . . iow good news and bad news.balanced![]()
Ok, now you've lost me. What does your dad have to do with this? Oh and, forget about elaborating. I've decided that i'll do it for you.

Gautrain will cost over R20bn
The Gauteng Department of Public Transport, Roads & Works on Wednesday welcomed the announcement by Finance Minister Trevor Manuel on Tuesday in Parliament that the overall cost to the fiscus of Gautrain would exceed 20 billion rand over the next five years.
The department said in a statement that this was the expected total exposure of Gautrain as expressed in nominal value.
The project cost that was generally quoted was 7 billion rand.
Consortium is under no legal obligation to complete the Gautrain before the 2010 Soccer World Cup starts, Business Day reported on Tuesday.
