Positive news forum needed

This thread reminds me of the "Hear no evil, See no evil, Speak no evil" syndrome. Adhere to it then there is no evil. A typical ANC Satire (or as they say in short..Wipe it under the carpet then it does not exist.

"Hear no evil, See no evil, Speak no evil" that is exactly it.

How is only looking at positive news going to achieve the above? Ignoring the reality of our situation is probably going to do more harm than good. The "causes" of the bad news needs to be addressed not the news itself.

I think what is meant, is that this thread is reserved for positive news, events and happenings only.

To answer your question on : "How is only looking at positive news going to achieve the above?" look elsewhere, there is bound to be another new thread about the doom and gloom that will surface soon.

So ,as the thread-starter said ,keep it POSITIVE !:D

Not alot of positive things happening in SA. I browse news24 and iol daily, and most of it is bad or negative news. Not because of people attitudes or outlooks, but because that is the reality of this country...

No, I think that is a bad idea. No point putting all the "good" news in one thread as it isnt conducive to discussion.

If it seems like there's only bad news in there its probably because that is what people are posting. Unfortunately there is preponderance of bad news in mainstream media because it sells - you might need to dig a bit harder to find the good stuff.

If you have news post it in the News & Current Affairs section. A balanced news section benefits everyone.

How about we just stick to reality?

Pulling a sheet over your head and living in denial isnt going to fix anything.. The current government isnt going to police themselves, and they'd love to get away with murder like our neighbours in Zimbabwe have done..

Ignoring the problem is as good as condoning the corruption going on..

balanced:confused:

Just as mature of you not to follow the stories since its inception. Again do yourself a favour and google the information then you can read all about the people displaced, allocation of contracts, delays as in will not be complete by 2010, only sections of it and of little use to the 2010 travelers etc, etc.

By the way I can make any statement. You can refute or believe what you want but I do not have to alaborate to you at all, My DAD died years ago and I am sure I could have been your grandpa.

Ok, now you've lost me. What does your dad have to do with this? Oh and, forget about elaborating. I've decided that i'll do it for you.

The Gauteng Department of Public Transport, Roads & Works on Wednesday welcomed the announcement by Finance Minister Trevor Manuel on Tuesday in Parliament that the overall cost to the fiscus of Gautrain would exceed 20 billion rand over the next five years.

The department said in a statement that this was the expected total exposure of Gautrain as expressed in nominal value.

Lets post news items in their own threads and keep this one relevant to the topic at hand.

What positive things are there to say? The ANC runs our country, we have a licensing system that is a cock-up, we have daily power failures because of retarded mistakes...

This is news, there is never any good news.. Bad news sells!

Stupid topic. You sound just like the government. They are the centre of scandal after scandal, responsible for the high crime rate etc yet they don't want to hear about it or pick up the criticism.

Look, the news is the news. We don't manufacture it. If you want more positive news then go to a country which has better citizens. ... or give away all your money on the street and get into the headlines yourself ....

Ok I see people see my suggestion in different viewpoints and that is also positive to a extend, as they must have given thought about it.

The intention is not to have censorship or politics and I fail to see why some see that if it is a separate forum.

I am on occasion venomously attacking when I see wrong and that is good for me and you.

But life must have checks and balances to keep us sane.

The news section must be kept as it is. There we debate issues and happenings. But it is normally negative. Negativity sells. If something sells it is sometimes kindled to a point where it is not making sense anymore.

My next few posts is going to argue why I requested it by simple examples and to answer some postings.

The topic is intertesting. It is just a shame that we will have to look to the end of the earth to find anything positive to say about SA. This will be a very short topic. A million people left SA and they could not see anything positive. WHat makes you think that you can?

Super 14 Positive vibes

This weekend we saw something happen in SA that was never seen before. Not even the World Rugby Cup in 1995 had this ingredient to this extend.

2 SA teams were having a semi final at home in the Super 14. With the persistence of the Sharks throughout the tournament and the miraculous win of 92 - 3 against the Reds by the Bulls made history.

I was there Saturday on Loftus when the Bulls beat the Crusaders. The POSITIVE attitude of players and spectators pulled the Bulls through in a match where not a single try was scored. The positive play of the Bulls made them win against a Crusader team that was getting negative by the minute and conceding one penalty after the other. 30% Of the winning attitude was from the spectators. You could feel the energy.

The last half of the match between Sharks and Blues were on the big screen at Loftus (The Sharks played their game before the Bulls) . There was not a single person at Loftus that was a Bull supporter that did not cheer on the Sharks. Now that is spirit.

That game and the atmosphere of positive attitude spurred me to ask for the additional forum, as I saw it work a miracle in real life.
