Rather see if you can budget for another R1500 and buy a mini notebook brand new.

If you want a mini laptop, the Asus EEE PC 2GB Linux version pops up at about R2099 then and again on Kalahari etc. Keep en eye out for it.

I got the 4GB Windows version from DigitalAddiction few weeks back for ~R2600. Also check out Nivo etc.

Asus new eee 9xx range is quite impressive for mini-notebooks.
