I have a Unifi 24 port non-PoE network switch as my main switch.

I have a Unifi Flex Mini switch in another room down the way (less than 100m I think) that has a Unifi AC LR access point connected to it.

I'm planning on getting a Mecer 1KW inverter trolley to run the main network switch, etc. during power outages.

Would it be possible to power the mini switch and wifi access point in the other room, from the main network switch by doing the following:

- Replace the Unifi Flex Mini switch with Ubiquiti UniFi Switch FLEX 5 Port Up to 46W PoE Switch. Wifi access point already has a PoE injector powering it

- Then add a Unifi PoE injector on the main network switch for the output to the other room to provide PoE to that PoE 5 port switch

Hope that makes sense :)

Is the above scenario viable?

Yes Mecer powers main switch and injector. Injector supplies the flex which in turn supplies the AC-LR

No problem as long as the UTP cable is not too long, and decent quality to carry the power

As per the bolded part:

You want to use a POE injector to provide PoE to the PoE switch in the other room?

No...IF I understand you correctly, that is not how that works.

That switch in the other room also needs AC power.

You cannot make a non-PoE switch PoE, but you can inject PoE into any ethernet cable coming out of it which is what it sounds like you want to do.

Problem is that non-PoE switch needs to be powered still.
