Hi there, I'm asking this on behalf of friends of mine, who own a HD PVR 2P decoder.
The decoder still functions however at bootup, it displays a message saying "Faulty Hard Drive, please contact a Multichoice call center, recording disabled". or something along those lines.
They were going to replace it with an explora, as they feel that's the only option, I said that I'd suggest replacing the Hard Drive, and then they should be fine again.
I just want to know is it just as simple as opening the decoder, and replacing what needs to be replaced?
If there was encryption, then the decoder wouldn't function at all with a hard drive right?
What kind of HDD is needed, 2.5" or 3.5"?
Thanks
