Post Office going ahead with job cuts

After attempts to secure funding from the Temporary Employment Relief Scheme (TERS) to delay job cuts at the South African Post Office (Sapo) failed, its business rescue practitioners must proceed with retrenchments.

MyBroadband asked joint business rescue practitioners (BRPs) Anoosh Rooplal and Juanito Damons if there were any other ways to prevent the job cuts.
 
WTH? How does it take just to lay off people? The rest of the world notifies a person you fired immediately, you guys take forever. Apologies, I forgot, African time, not the West Imperialists time. Unreal.

Tell us you've never dealt with HR issues in the rest of the world and base your opinion on how it works on Hollywood, without actually telling us.

Nothing to do with Hollywood or HR. SA is probably heavily into unions. What does a government PO do? Sell stamps? Look @ Tesla, Google, Starbucks or contractor companies etc. Rumors might float around, but when it's decided you gone. Might take a couple of weeks, but that depends. Not months or years. If they decide to let people go they do it with speed (It's called Pink Slips). It's decided either by a board or CEO. I work for a specific company in the ME. You must be competent, fit, work in small groups or bigger (Depends). You can't demand things, nor belong to a union. They simply don't offer it. You either say yeah or nay, that's your choice. Not 1 guy in my time with the company has been fired, yeah they resign to maybe retire or decided it's time for something else.

The mind boggles at the Doubling down...

The ME has limited to no employee protections by and large, parts of the US don't either, but Europe and parts of the US have very strong employee protections.

You really should just get over your 'hatred' of SA since you've left, it's not good for your stability.

No doubling down, facts. Agree, depends on the industry as well. No hatred towards SA. Saw an opportunity took it.
 
Well ANC version of job creation was see how many useless people they can put in SOE's before it fails, so it took them 3 decades. Actually less if you work on the first bailout of each SOE.

They just shifting the money to somewhere else. You money is guaranteed to be wasted with or without PO.

first they should fire all the morons who steal everyones valuable packages before they receive them - once those crooked ar5es are gone then maybe the post office can start coming right - firing anyone and everyone wont put it right - firing the crooks should start putting it right

till then nobody is going to use the post office and it is just another way for the crooked ANC tw@ttys to line up their own pockets

Who is going to fire anyone if EVERYONE is stealing ? The bosses are sharing the loot...

And just like Eskom... can't touch anyone.
 
Public schools are letting teachers go because they cut the education budget, but they pay 1/2 the PO workers for doing nothing?

Sounds like a great plan, nothing can go wrong, right?
