Potential Disaster for 5800 XpressMusic users..

Nice! I can't wait for mine... MTN have been so useless up to now though, I think I might seriously lose it if the speaker doesn't work (sound fluctuates with connection strength AFAIK). I can imagine them taking 3 months (this of course without a replacement/demo phone) to fix the thing...

Ahh well. Will have to wait and see. Wait and see...

Great stuff Piesang
I'm expecting mine on wed (5 working days from last thurs) but i'm holding thumbs that it comes earlier.

What are you first impressions Piesand?

Piesang, can you post a mini review of the phone? Compare it to the Omnia if possible, in terms of usability, performance etc.

any update on the speaker error ???
i'm supposed to get mine tomorrow...

I just got off the line with Nokia Customer Care. I shouldn't have bothered to phone them. They don't know about this problem. I told the guy they must go Google it and get more up to date with their products to better service their clients.

They cannot give me my phone's manufacturing date, but only the "Warranty Date" which is 6 February 2009.

Whats the update on this problem?
I am picking up a 5800 for my gf as a gift this week, I am really going to break kneecaps in shops if I give her a defective version.
If nokia doesnt know, and if the shops don't know, then service delivery and product knowledge in this country has *really* gone to the dogs.

Rest assured that the demand for the 5800 is bigger than manufacturing capacity so any 5800's sold in the last month should not be a pre-Feb manufactured one.
