Insurance are now sending out an assessor, should i view this as slightly positive or is it merely a formality? An assessor wont be able to ascertain whether the rims are buckled or not by simply looking at the car as BMW had to take them off and test each individually.
I had the same misfortune. I'm insured with Iemas, submitted my claim at 9:00 am, money for new SET of rims and 4 new tires in my account at 15:00. No excess.
1. It's a step in the right direction
2. Do you have any reports from BMW that the wheels are bucked? That is sufficient evidence.
Not sure if it has changed, but you were able to claim from the municipality or or regional govt for such damage. Years back, ~20 yrs ago, I claimed for a lovely pothole in Fourways. They took about 2 yrs to pay out for a tyre written off less than a month old.Wakey wakey.
I’m the victim of a similar exclusion that got me denied. I really didn’t think suspension damage was an add on now? Especially by potholes
