Yesterday, we had the 3rd power failure in Faerie Glen in a month and somehow, it seems that the Vodacom 3G/HSDPA service in our area cannot recover from a power failure.

For about 12 hours (and even longer) , the HSDPA modem is flashing both blue and red LED's. When opening the Vodaphone Mobile Connect connection manager, it indicates in the left hand bottom status line as "Acquiring" and you cannot connect.

I tried to see if the 3G service is up by manualy selecting the service from the "Select Network" option under the Tools menu option. It takes about 2 minutes and then lists several services including Cell C, MTN-SA 3G and Vodacom 3G and Vodacom GPRS (the Cell C and MTN-SA services are indicated as not allowed - as expected).

But you still cannot connect to the service.

And this happens everytime there is a power failure !

Has anybody else experienced the same problem ?
