Power issue

I'm not an electrician, but it sounds like when your fridge's compressor cycles on it's causing a power dip in the voltage of your house's electricity supply which is then feeding through into the inverter (and yes, I know the fridge is not connected to the inverter) and causing the screen to flicker.

I would get an electrician to check it out though, there could be a problem with your fridge's compressor, it's not normal for a fridge to drain so much voltage from the supply.

Our old fridge does the same, but to a lesser extent. Once every few months it kicks in with quite some force and momentarily kills the monitor's output. It is quite close to the fridge, and on the same circuit so that could be a contributing factor. Screen still works after all these years though...

I always attributed it to the electronic 'noise' that the fridge created. Did not think much of it.

No man.

The fridge is in the kitchen, the inverter is by my desk. The fridge is plugged into the wall, not the inverter.

So - power from wall to inverter. Then inverter to laptop, router, screen.
lol oh  my bad.
ok so 2 things the inverter is not running in UPS mode if the screen goes off - check that out - because the inverter should come on but should be quick enough to switch over that the screens do not notice, and the fridge is causing a dip in your power that the inverter is picking up as a power failure.
