Power supply enough to support?

But what is the difference from just a proline and the coolmasters and vantec? is it just better? or safer for us to use.. (but they are also rather expensive.. ><)

proline will probably use generic parts in their units to control cost whereas the bigger names will use far superior products. +1 for vantec

No Proline PSU is 'good'. It's a generic brand. And that price is a joke - you can get a huntkey 550w for r500 which would give you 2x6-pins.

Huntkey is not exactly spectacular either: Huntkey 550W review.
If you are looking for a true 550 W power supply don’t buy this product. Take a look on the list of power supplies we already tested and that got an award seal for choosing a good product that won’t explode or damage your equipment.

I would rather get something like the Corsair CX400 for around R600.

But i have used the prolines ever since, I mean when I first got my computer it was on proline (around 7 years ago...)

and then I change the power supply to 400w.. still proline, it's really not bad..

i haven't had any problems..

but did someone say something about blowing up?? O>O

Well anything is possible when using low quality components in your products. It's like buying a generic part for your car, sure it will work but for how long is the question.

Kai I doubt your PC would ever explode... there's a fat gap between the power your PSU supplies and the amount you need

No meanness intended :D

It's ok, I know I have to spend money else where, because of the fact that my computer isn't that great..

But if I get a new PSU before this one dies, I'll feel it's kind of a waste of money..

Reed, do you have this um.. wonderful PSU?

the :"Gigabyte Odin 470 GE-P470A-C2 Power Supply - 470W"

which has such a long name..
