My psu died on me last night,500w

I have a friend with a 400w and 450w

Will it work for my rig?

Ssd
hdd
asus socket 1155 motherboard
i5 2500k
R9 270x graphics card
8gb memory

Im building a PC to the specs of your machine.

I don't think his PSU's are enough to keep your machine stable.

Not sure what your PSU is/was though, but my minimum spec psu would be a true 500w PSU but 550 or 600 would be far more comfortable.
Lets see what the others say.

Fyi,battlefield 4 runs smooth at high settings, 72-94 fps
 
A 450w psu doesn't mean you get 450w on your 12v rail. 12v rail is the most important aspect to look for when buying a psu. A good quality 450w such as Seasonic, corsair etc should be good enough to power your system but I would suggest at least 550w. You rather have more power than you don't need than have power that you need but don't have.

I read that just now yeah

450 could be 380w

So im looking for true 500w or 550w,any suggestions?

I'm running a similar setup but with a 550Ti on a standard no frills Gigabyte PSU for about 4 years now :)
