It's true that coal capacity has increased if we look at the charts, but not really true that they didn't have to burn diesel because there was still loadshitting over the weekend, they chose to not burn diesel instead of going balls to the wall like they have been doing for the last couple of weeks and end loadshitting completely.

Yup this, though load shedding was reduced quite a bit over the weekend

because its was the weekend with lower demand and more coal generation online although moz imports were down, so they could have burned diesel instead of doing an about-turn after suspending loadshitting on saturday for 4 hours and saved face. They could have easily ended loadshitting if they burned the same amount of diesel they burned the previous weekend.

That part is true, but for some reason it was better to just go to stage 4

Politics must be key to these kinds of decisions, nothing else fits. It fits the common political behaviour as well.

Much worse is listening to Australians, but when speaking to them they also sound surprisingly normal. Not all of them though - had a tour guide in Perth, seriously couldn't understand 90% of it :-/
