AdR has done more to expose the extent of corruption than any of his predecessors, with his R50m intelligence report showing the complex network of corruption throughout Eskom.
Fiction
The new minister followed the same guide book Energy Action Plan afforded to Adr to follow to bring online the most economical low hanging fruit in MWs that Adr refused to follow, he did it in 3 months
It wasnt an impossible task just a lot of effort

The only effort Andre put while at Eskom went into his book, spotting those expensive cars, clothing and handbags from his third floor office took a lot of effort.

Imagine the progress we could have done if he was chased away sooner, 3 wasted years.

Some days I'm hopeful for a new dawn, other days I just want to cut myself.
Let's make it a better day then

Thanks. Found it on the list. I see we have a 138 MW farm. Today should be a good day for wind generation (at least over here)

I wish it could supply the town!

This probably confused some Twitts;

Johannesburg Water said its infrastructure is gradually recovering after a pump failure at City Power’s Orlando power station left many areas in Joburg without water on Thursday.

Power outage affects water supply

A power outage at the Soweto power station in the early hours of Thursday morning affected the entity’s water infrastructure and Rand Water’s Eikenhof pump station, leaving several areas, including Randburg and Roodepoort, without water.

What's the need for Stage 1/4 with that small a short fall? Did they loose 2GW today or something?

It is possible (give them the benefit of the doubt) that there is some advance planning based on potential load predictions. A significant cold front tomorrow (Sun 11th) will bring widespread cool conditions across almost the entire country on Mon 12th. Expected daytime temperatures on Mon 12th, and overnight temperatures on Tues 13th:

This article mentions there were additional breakdowns on Friday.

While Eskom had managed to avoid load shedding during the day, reinstating Stage 4 only for the peak and evening, the loss of two units on Friday morning would, unfortunately, require Stage 1 load shedding during the day on Saturday and Sunday. Stage 4 load shedding would kick in at 16:00 on both days.
