It's 2.48 a unit, so 6kw would be 14.88 am hour, plus it's 2.48 for the first 349 units after that it's 2.80 for the next 150, then it's over 3 for the nextOkay, let's try work this out...
6 KW @ R1.48 per hour average Eskom charge (Jan '23) = R8.88 p/h
A 9 Kg heater bottle wholesale just cost me R280, with petrol maybe R300.
I get about 105 hours out of that and about equivalent heat as any oil / fan units so don't agree with the direct conversion given - again a matter of heater efficiency here I suppose.
Anyway, works out to R2.86 p/h x 3 heaters = R8.58 p/h. So very little difference at the mo, although gas cost has increased a lot recently.
