2 unused power stations costing about R300m a year to maintain - Tshwane

One would have thought with all the loadshedding over the last 15 years someone would have thought about using these sooner :rolleyes:
Can't. The WEF overlords will cut off the money if they use more coal.

R12.5 bar a month, each? R17K an hour?

The mind boggles...

So now shedding is suspended from midnight to 5am and stage 1 and 3 shedding after.
The unplanned break downs haven't been this low for a long time
Yeah, over a year, I would congratulate them but that would just be encouraging mediocrity... still 12k broken, do your ****ing jobs and fix the **** or **** off

Quite an improvement on this from earlier actually was almost touching 30GW it's like numbers I've not seen in a long timeScreenshot_20230918_222301_Chrome.jpg

Stage 3 at night isn't needed by the looks of it, but hey it's apparently no shedding from 9am to 4pm again. Wonder if it will be 5am to 4pm no shedding tomorrow, they just say it will resume.

Can't read that here again for some reason.
For anyone else needing it;

With the improved available generation capacity and breakdowns significantly reduced to 13 577MW of generation capacity, loadshedding will be suspended at 09:00 today until 16:00. Thereafter, Stage 3 loadshedding will resume as previously communicated from 16:00 until 05:00 on Wednesday. Eskom is closely monitoring the system performance and will communicate a further update this afternoon.

Looks like they're back at general zero daytime shedding but too nervous to say so.

Meanwhile, 1/3 is almost identical to 2/4 for me, and the zero mornings so far haven't helped either so don't care much.

Nah stage 1/3 for me is more like stage 2, stage 2/4 is more like stage 4 for me, this week I would've been like stage 2 sort of. But if they keep dropping stages or suspending it, I may actually get days off, the weekend was already confusing to have 60 hours of continous power. I mean even now we're going to have 22 hours of continous power, but if they don't drop it again, I'll have a 4 to 6am slot again sigh.

I guess I'm being "spoiled", more used to having these odd days off.

Thing we shouldn't forget is that they said they "need to" whack us at times and I'm sure still plan to, predict S5 within the next 10 days to 2 weeks.
