here I thought you had your mouth confused for your rectum. But you are correct it appears that the new smoke stacks can't really handle the throughput. However the scrubbers can't be bypassed so easily so a half truth until more evidence makes it way into the open.
Holy sht you're back lmao

Haven't seen this in over a week, and not on a Sunday. Think it would be stupid if they did shed on a Sunday nightScreenshot_20231029_065858_Chrome.jpg

Hopefully the wind gen will save us from going over the edge.
Nope looks like we will be back to 2/3 combo from 4pm today. No more day time breaks, back to all day shedding...
That 60% what a joke

First time ever I seen purple bar that size, 1.1GW:

As you can see, wind has picked up saving pumped storage and OCGT usage.

Strange there is no peak usage on Friday, very flat curve for the day.

Yeah but thermal did go up again
Sure, about 1GW but so did wind, from 400MW to 2300MW. As cold fronts bring windy conditions it should help guaranteeing 2GW for a few days unlike coal where 2GW just drops with the click of the finger.

And we're back.
I mean instead of holding off burning all those reserves so we could have lower shedding noooo. Typical SA mentality use it now, also Kusile has a unit down already

I was at a braai yesterday to watch the rugby and after the game, I casually announced 'stage 4 loadshedding from tomorrow' as a jest. Imagine my lack of surprise when it is almost true.
