Down almost 2GW on Tuesday, but looking at this there has been a massive spike in maintenance View attachment 1636423
Possible or they increased maintenanceMaybe they are anticipating a further drop in demand from this weekend
or something broke without warning, probably Kusile.Possible or they increased maintenance
Possible or they increased maintenance
Gotta apply new layers of duct tape to hold everything together specifically in that one weekIf I recall correctly, the highest amount of planned maintenance in a 52-week cycle will be next week, which makes sense all things considered.
Well, there you have it. All confirmed and as believed in the thread.![]()
Lights should stay on over festive season, says electricity minister | Business
Power demand is below supply, despite an increase in "aggressive maintenance".www.news24.com
Load shedding is currently suspended until at least Friday afternoon. While Ramakgopa would not be drawn on how long this would last, he did intimate that the real test for electricity supply would be in the new year, when industry returns.
"The lights will remain on, going into the near future. The trend line is positive. What we will celebrate is if we can sustain it."
He does know that Friday afternoon is when the festivities really start right? Big drop in generation againHe's being a bit over optimistic again (and more honest), but let's see....
If he fixes Eskom he can have that corrupt useless Pravins job.If Minister of Electricity fixes ESKOM than he hasn't got a job anymore. So he ain't gonna fix anything....
Don't like it, but have to agree :-(I'd rather have stage 2 and more maintenance than no Loadshedding and less maintenance.
Maintenance is already at 17% which is way higher then its been in a long time, if we can get away with high maintenance and no shedding I'll rather have that thanksI'd rather have stage 2 and more maintenance than no Loadshedding and less maintenance.
We're years behind, remember the fuss about it?Maintenance is already at 17% which is way higher then its been in a long time
Already 3% higher almost 4% then last year, plus break downs are 7% lower, we are sitting at close to 57% EAF and considering that breakdowns are over 11kw means it's actually better then last year. We're years behind, remember the fuss about it?
So this whole year was the sacrifice to catch up enough, maybe?Already 3% higher almost 4% then last year, plus break downs are 7% lower, we are sitting at close to 57% EAF and considering that breakdowns are over 11kw means it's actually better then last year.
But come to think of it last year this time we were stage 5/6
No idea, though remember since Oct last year we've not had almost 3GW from Kusile, which did come online over the last 3 months, so it's now using 4 out of the 6 units with the 5th one synching soon.So this whole year was the sacrifice to catch up enough, maybe?
