coastal regions or if your located inbetween like 2 ranges of mountains (valley setup)
then your sorted.

but not sure on the output of those wind generators. I think it's much lower but it can generate 24hours a day (or whilst windy). Maybe worthit for smaller setups (maybe just to power medium sized TV and few lights to get it off the grid)

Would be interesting to know what the details are - the size in @Grieta Thanburg 's example pic looks about maximum for not looking ridiculous, so wonder how many peeps' needs that can accommodate and if it would include regular kettle, microwave, geyser, aircon and heater use.

Doubt it could handle more than 1 to 2 people with really moderate needs, and that if regularly windy.

Yea from what i have heard the bang for buck of wind is much lower than PV

Maybe in an assist role if you live in an off grid setting to try and supplement if PV s low

Not to mention wind generators isn't like PV where if you get an awesome day you scoop all you can

ie when storm winds roll in you have to put the item in lock down to prevent damage

Here's one for 26k. Max output is ~700w. Perfect for night time. Not enought for a kettle without some kind of battery storage, but could be used in conjunction with solar. E.g. solar day time, wind night time.

Price per watt is very pricey compared to solar panels though.

Saw someone in the street next to mine installed a wind generator. Seems to be working fairly decent with the wind today.

Wonder what the output is. Probably 200w - 300w?

Seems the roof isn't optimal for panels, so they went the wind route.
200 to 300w isn't a lot sadly
 
Its not but it would cover my night time load. Even if its 1/3rd of your night time load it saves your batteries.

200w x 24h is 4.8kwh and mostly at the times when solar is underperforming.

But personally I don't think they are practical.
It would give me ease of mind in the scenario where the substation fails for almost a full month. (Not looking at anyone in particular at all, here)

However, almost 30k for something that works 3 times a week for a couple of hours is pretty steep.

Guess on a coastal farm it would be a good investment for a farm house.

30K for 700w.. no thanks. you could buy 2x 400w solar panels for propably 6K then have spare 24K to installation/equipment/batterys.

yea for the 24k spare you could actually buy a cheap 5kw inverter and 5kw inverter

 
Unplanned outages for this week are hovering around 30% the demand is the only thing really saving us.
