National IQ testing coming on 29 May 2024 - lets hope the results are not 30%

So glad I could do my part and take 16.5kwh from Eskom

We had 'Loadshedding' from 18:00.
Then it came back on and tripped and we were off until 23:15.
Then we were due to go out from 0:00 to 02:00, I don't think we did nit it tripped at 02:00 for another hour...

New data from the 600-page report produced by German engineers at the behest of National Treasury shows just how shocking the decline in performance of some of Eskom’s coal-fired power stations has been. On a percentage basis, the energy availability factor (EAF), or a measure of available capacity, has roughly halved since 2010.

The three power stations, Tutuka, Duvha and Kendal, could boost output by about 3,000MW – equivalent to three stages of load shedding – if they performed in line with the best-performing large stations in its coal fleet. Together, these three stations are capable of generating 10,000MW.

Not even with Stage 4 is Durban going off.
It's starting to stink, but at least we have power. Yay, I guess.
JHB has no water and we're still load shedding :-( but hey at least we don't have protests right?

Time to move from the filthy west to the south where we mostly have power and water...

I'm actually lucky in some regards, being in the valley, I may lose water quicker, but I also get it back quicker, plus since the replacement of the mini sub in December, we are more stable. So I'll stay, I used to live in the South, I prefer the West :-).

How do you lose water quicker? Surely you're the last to lose it and the first to get it if you're at the bottom of the hill as water flows downhill.
