You've not been to Durbs... Once it drops below 20 they are wearing jerseys and jackets. Go there in winter, it's like 19 degrees with 80% humidity and the shops are full on heaters and people are looking at me weirdly in my shorts and t-shirt.

That part is true - I was thinking along similar lines to you - due to very well-known humidity, I thought the temperature may not reflect the actual state of affairs.

Look as Wingnut has said humidity and cold can make it feel colder, but I mean they do it as it drops below 20 :-)

One thing I've learnt over the years is saffers are a bunch of sissies when it comes to temperature changes... zomg its 25, I can't go on, when will it end, I literally died. Zomg its 15, I can't go on, when will it end, I'm literally brrrrdied. I have a neighbor that starts his fire when it hits like 20, not kidding, 2 chimneys bellowing out smoke in mid summer like its sub zero... its insane.

Pretty sure the next flood will wash the city into the sea, but good luck tempting fate to dodge loadshedding :D Move to JHB, we have a pretty sweet loadshedding schedule from next month

It sounds like they have lost large industrial customers over the years, and someone probably actually read their contract with eskom regarding their obligations regarding loadshedding, so there is now more MW to go around because they have been shedding more than required. They don't exactly say what the magic is, but that is what makes sense to me. Only affects CoJ customers however, so RIP Eskom direct plebs
