At the rate CT grows with the influx of people, soon they'll all live in 1 room micro apartments and when the ground floor unit eat baked beans, the top unit will smell it.

No - we grow accustomed to having cool air inside when it's hot.

Now it is the norm. Cars are airconditioned, whereas in the old days you'll just roll your window down on a hot day.
