According to a media report, I read a few days ago, JHB has a regulation saying generators can only be on between 7 am-10 pm (guessing that is for residential purposes). Unfortunately, CoCT doesn't have anything like that and our very elderly neighbours have it on at all hours, except for between midnight and 5 am. It's so bloody loud...but apparently, the diesel costs are becoming exorbitant so they are getting a battery + inverter system installed next month. Happy days.
In my previous location, my one neighbour ran his until 02:00 in the morning over the December holidays. I was annoyed to say the least. It's great that you have leave, I don't.

Fortunately, at the new location, people turn off their generators at 21:30 from what I can see.

You can ask an electrician to add one of those small lights in the DB board, unless your DB board is far away...

I got a little red light in mine, but DB bord is in the garage... On Friday i think we had heavy rains and we had a trip and battery was being drained down... Anyway went into the garage and saw my little light wasn't burning... Flip the switch and we had power again

Happiness.

Almost done with my installation. One set of panels connected. Second string getting connected next week. Even one string should be more than enough to carry my house load during the day (and today is very overcast)

Now this begs the question, since I don't have prepaid and confirmed I have a spinning disk meter, should I feed back?
Please explain what the calendar icon on your supply is.

Sweet. And it's stable?
I haven't had any issues with the beta. The schedule has been incorrect twice in the last two months though. What I mean by that is Eskom updated faster than these guys could.

The solar assistant use this ^

Nah don't think so, he's run his generator till midnight sometimes
Oh no, JMPD are **very** happy to enforce the bylaws, just report whoever is being problematic. I had resolution in a few days

Not a 'generator' regulation, just noise iirc. CT will have something similar, no loud noise after 10/11/12pm or something, generator noise falls under that

No it does not, there are 2 categories of noise pollution in law. Generators fall under the "constant ambient noise" category and has no noise level or time frames associated to it.
