Station build-up for the last 7 days - Eskom Data Portal

This shows how resources were used to build-up the demand over the past 7 days, and it includes both generation and demand side resources that Eskom has contracts with.

System hourly demand and available capacity - Eskom Data Portal

Hourly demand is compared against available capacity, to indicate the amount of surplus/shortfall there was. Available capacity must be matched with the total RSA contracted demand.

Looks like some chilly mornings on Thursday and Friday Jhb side. Let's hope stage "6" holds.
 
Is there really a person at eskom that manually switches the power on and off for loadshedding or is it done automatically according to the schedule

Most places are automatic. But there are some areas that are manual, at municipality level.

In Kouga here, as far as I understand, Eskom controls the main feed, but the Municipality then switches on area by area after Eskom switched on the main feed.

This is done as the entire towns gets loadshed at the same time.
