Remember we had unplanned breakdowns this low in October of 2022, it shot up this year we've had unplanned breakdowns touching 20GWWhat makes you so over-confident? We've had years of abuse and disappointment, now suddenly we're told it's all under control (despite the warnings that we're in for a rollercoaster ride and an already forgotten S6 shock period) and we believe it??
I guess you must have inside info or something![]()

Where do you live?Holy **** - ESP says my next load-shedding is Thursday "Next Week". wow.
Jokes aside, do you think we are going to see a marked improvement by early next year?Sell it, the way Sputla and Cassim are going you won't be needing an inverter anymore.
That remains to be seen.Jokes aside, do you think we are going to see a marked improvement by early next year?
Cape Town,Where do you live?
The thing is, the power plants are just getting older and older, and maintenance has to be kept to a minimum as taking power stations offline now would be a disaster. The only way I see it improving is if there is significant investment in new power plants. That remains to be seen.
I'll let you Google the budget overruns for medupi and kusile.significant investment in new power plants.
Now that you've mentioned it... what was the budgets and budget overruns (if any) for all of the old Apartheid-era power stations?I'll let you Google the budget overruns for medupi and kusile.
You can easily find it if you Google, nothing was ever hidden from the public in those days, the government of the day prided itself on transparency. Now that you've mentioned it... what was the budgets and budget overruns (if any) for all of the old Apartheid-era power stations?

I swear we live in the same block lmaoYeah my block hardly had any days off, when it was going to get days off they changed stages, so a day off went to 2 4 hour sessions.
Well lets hope they don't the unplanned breakdowns are 3 to 4GW lower then they were on Friday, I mean that's impressive, don't think I've seen it that low in ages and it was March and even then still pushing 14GW, but in October 2022 it was this low as well and it was stage 2 during peaks
I'm not finding much anywhere. You have any source? Or are you being sarcastic. You can easily find it if you Google, nothing was ever hidden from the public in those days, the government of the day prided itself on transparency.
Under budget, Ahead of schedule, Exceeded quality requirements...Now that you've mentioned it... what was the budgets and budget overruns (if any) for all of the old Apartheid-era power stations?
