4 hour slots are still a thing
I have 4 - 4 hour slots over the weekend

Saturday 2 - 6 in the morning then 10am - 2pm

Sunday 10am - 2pm, 6 - 10pm
 
So, after a few days of the more sensible Jo'burg change now, some mixed impressions here - my household's agreeing it's better with stage 6, but that's 'cos it suits our lifestyle and many will be sure to disagree.

Practically - can never be acceptable due to the added heat etc. strain put on equipment with the extra on/off/on behaviour, not just for our city power structure but for our personal equipment too. For instance at the mo I keep my satellite TV stuff off most of the time..

I wonder how we compare to other 2 hour systems around the country? (CT & Dirtbin cheating excluded of course :p)
 
I used to say that Stages below 4 were, to me, like Covid, I just ignored it, but stage 4and higher was bother some.

This recent stage 6 has only been a nuisance due to the heat.

My primary back up is a properly wired up 5kVA generator, haven't started it since mid October....

See we are back to stage 2....

Got to love how we have accepted power outages and making peace with it.

This is why the ANC believe they can do as they please. South Africans will moan and then just accept things.

They go to 4 hours a session from stage 5 upwards like we used to.
