Poweralert Stage 3 (old news)

Yeah once again so much for their bringing back last night

Almost 2GW down from yesterday so looks like if this keeps up, LS will be back sooner.

Sure, but didn't you just see they don't have money. So that isn't happening

It's a strange mix of circumstances.
As I see it, if ANC has money then Eskom does (can have).
ANC always has money argument - their international support teams never seem to say no.
ANC never has money argument - their members squander it as always.
Their support seems to be in favour of renewables being built, but somehow that's still not enough to motivate.

Building for coal... doubt that can happen in our lifetimes.
Retrofit for coal... only when they get desperate, methinks maybe in 3 or 4 years time.

But this is the ANC, they can barely keep the 2 "new" power stations running.

Yet they kept the lights on for 10 months.....?
Things were fixed, probably little flooding :), they kept the lights on from mid 2008 to 2015, they also kept it on from mid 2015 to late 2018 :-)

Coming soon: Longterm loadshedding, again
Nah

They definitely do have the ability (and will) to fix.
If they had lost interest due to a loss of a good political future, there would be other signs of that attitude change, but they remain proudly insistent that they will sort this recent mess out.

Yup even with Koeberg and coal over 20GW they still used 1.6GW of OCGT? Like wtaf? They've been burning the midnight oil mostly right through Feb and March so far.

It's like whatever savings we had, they're using it.
Unplanned has been hovering around and over 30% for a long time again

What's the lowest they've managed to bring down that UCLF? 17%?

It's going to be a fun winter boys and girls... FFS!! I'm so over this s hit!!!
People were saying that last year, winter was actually the better EAF as they dropped the maintenance down to like 3 to 7%, whereas now it's been 9 to 17%

Hoping the poweralert is old, cause if it isn't, we will be getting LS really soon
