Ah, I misread the News24 post:

Eskom has announced that load shedding escalated to Stage 4 in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

"Stage 4 load shedding was implemented at 05:30 due to breakdowns of five generators at five power stations overnight. The load shedding will be implemented until further notice," spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha said.

More information is expected to be provided later.

I saw him on one of the news channels about 2 days ago but I just caught the end.

I must say, the complex recipe for the next few days does suggest management are trying to make this less extreme.

All those solar panels not working with the cloud cover today.
 
i dont understand how we can go from 5 units tripping and needing stage 4 to nothing during the day? surely those 5 units will take time to get back online?
