BTW they have now officially confirmed the shedding is due to the debt to Eskom to the tune of 543 million.
 Didn't consider that to be the reason.
As per local chber of commerce, apparently the municipality collected some 900million just the other day, but did not pay over a penny of that.

Now that I believe. That is an insane schedule.

Didn't realize there were so many on the forum from PMB. Load reduction plus stage 4 load shedding means we're going to have no electricity for 12 hours a day "until further notice". To say I'm p*ssed would be an understatement.

Here is the schedule for anyone who doesn't have it yet, the block you fall under depends on the feeder station you get power from:

Also the response from the municipality on their Facebook page about Chris Pappas' announcement earlier is actually infuriating, I wouldn't have even known what was going on until now if he didn't make an announcement.

I just hope they sort it out soon because I don't think the city's infrastructure can last more than a week like this.

I'm surprised that business hasn't already moved to durban seeing we (durban) are immune below stage 4.

Wonder why the demand is so high still

Sounds like a normal day in JHB lol. You are basically guaranteed a 14 to 20-hour session of loadshedding when you go off for the first slot after the restoration from the last 14 to 20-hour session. The infrastructure fell apart weeks ago...

Prob all the companies playing catchup to close their delivery contracts and then cut their losses and shut down forever.

That's insane. My batteries won't be able to fully charge with that schedule. (On a 10 amp charge setting).

Madness. I wonder when an "agreement" will be reached. That's the deathknell for many businesses.

Anyway thanks, sent this to my mom. She didn't know what was going on yesterday.

Yeah, something big seems to have gone for a ball of **** and we aren't being told about it.

Just came out of a 10 hour load-reduction-shedding session, only feedback:

UNANNOUNCED LOAD REDUCTION BY ESKOM

Good Evening Residents,

Eskom implemented load reduction without warning.

Apparently the load is very high at the moment. Eskom has implemented load-reduction in a lot of areas.

Load reduction can last anywhere between 5 and 8 hours.

This is really something beyond our control.

As soon as there is more information and clarification from Eskom, it will be communicated to you.

Ward 106

So we went:
8pm-10pm load shedding
10pm-4am load reduction
4am-6am load shedding

This is after our 2 hour loadshedding slot yesterday became a 4 hour slot.

Effectively in the last 24-hours my area has had power 8 hours.

Overlay that new schedule with the current load shedding one and see how many hours of power you have a day, it's disheartening. This is currently what we're looking at for the Hayfields side of town. Might look a little different if it was more granular down to the half hour, but just slotted in the Stage 4 load shedding into the new timetable.

If you're in PMB read above

I've also seen that load reduction message coming from Ekurhuleni ward councillors.
The councillor in my ward said it came from a Bedford view councillor.
