It's possible, the move away from coal is causing massive issues worldwide.
Sssh don't tell the renewable Zealots, solar and wind are the be all and end all.
Who said that? Those are supplementary sources. I'd still say nuclear is the way to go. How hard you push the reactors depends on how much renewable energy you have available.

Solar is great for private use, and wind for bad weather/night time generation if you have a property that allows for it...

There is one on this forum who is especially zealoty of the renewables.

The south african issue isn't choosing to not use coal, it's a structural issue in not having sufficient generation due to no new generation being added and neglecting in maintaining existing generation. The cause of these two problems is a whole combination of things from lack of skills to monetary theft, which has already been highlighted everywhere.

The problem is we know what the best source of energy for the country is. But if they can't be trusted with a coal build, a nuclear build will literally bankrupt the country...

Sadly renewables won't solve the problem either, as the problem isn't during the day.

We all do.

The problem is we know what the best source of energy for the country is. But if they can't be trusted with a coal build, a Russian nuclear build will literally bankrupt the country...very quickly but Gweezy et al will be fat (ter) and happy. Screw SA.
