They keep about 2 GW in reserve when there is no diesel.

But they have been burning diesel - well at least on the 27th of Dec. according to Moneyweb article here. Pretty sure the government has given their corrupt brothers from Petro SA the diesel contract to supply Eskom up until the end of March.

At 7pm, they were burning around 600MW of diesel, and only using 900MW out of 2.4GW of pumped storage.

I'm sure there was a message about it somewhere about not being able to rely on the OCGT's due to diesel issues. But I'm sure its all tales and stories at this point. I doubt we are getting much truth.

The problem is that there's no repercussions. Not finished with this unit meh, Im still getting paid.....we going to stage 6, ESKOM management don't worry, they still get paid. CEO And COO, there's no power, but its cool, we still get paid at the end of the day
Participation awards, everyone is a winner...:cautious:

Where was this rockspider hiding for the last 15 years?

ANC always reactive, never proactive

Waiting for things to worsen so he can make deals with kickbacks and the taxpayer will thank him for it.

Did our bit for load shedding...12hrs no power...

Seems to be getting worse and its becoming a proper gamble if you can get power back on after a LS session...

We used to have that issue years ago and they had to do major upgrades to our sub stations to fix it. I don't think there is money to do all of them though. Maybe try get the whole suburb to log a ticket every time it happens and see if that kicks you up the ladder for upgrades.
