We used to have that issue years ago and they had to do major upgrades to our sub stations to fix it. I don't think there is money to do all of them though. Maybe try get the while suburb to log a ticket every time it happens and see if that kicks you up the ladder for upgrades.
Ja, one the local Eskom guys said basically that the towns and cities have the priority with repairs and spares..
I stay rural...And its getting more rural....

Did our bit for load shedding...12hrs no power...

Seems to be getting worse and its becoming a proper gamble if you can get power back on after a LS session...
In 2020 we had no power for up to 48h regularly after load shedding, especially on weekends. Then there was further damage on an aging cable which caused a 2 week power outage. Don't even think it made news anywhere either.

So what is causing 2022 to be so much worse than usual. Maintenance or something else?

Probably a lot more broke during the rioting/striking in 2022, also the lockdowns caused massive backlogs on parts

This.

They beat us up badly at higher levels last year, then kept the heat on through the holidays so that now we're grateful when it's "only Stage 2".

This, I suspect, is the new normal.
Yet it's stage 3/4 :(

So what's actually cutting with Eskom se push. Is it stage 4 every day til Sunday from 16:00-5:00 or did these okes misunderstand the doc Eskom put out?

1600-0500 Sat./Sun. may have been implied.
Would think Sun. itself is surely going to be lowered as it usually is.
