I'm getting the distinct feeling that stage 6 is just the normal now, like stage 4 has been the norm for most of the past 4/5 months...
Yea. They've accepted it's not getting better and they're barely trying anymore. Until further notice is the norm now. They used to least include platitudes like an apology and "we're working tirelessly", all gone now.

Is this the longest stage 6 we’ve had? Pretty rough to keep us on stage 6 “until further notice”

I think so. It's also obvious BS. A baseload of 25-26MW does NOT need stage 6 in summer on weekend. Just seems like a punishment. I've seen Eskom publish baseloads of 25MW-26MW and we've been on Stages 3/4.

I'm pretty sure. Last time we had some stage 5 sprinkled in between.

There's too much political pressure for Stage 6 to be the norm though - only thing in "our" favour.
Is there? Pressure from who exactly? ANC gets to steal if we have power or not so they don't care, and with the very public revelations they dont need to pretend to care anymore either. What's the DA going to do? Post angry tweets?

Nope, they still have to keep their voter base believing in them. Why they unofficially denied it all.

The ANC only cares about the 2024 elections. This level of load-shedding is shredding the votes - at least in the urban parts of SA (which is where the majority of the population live, unhappily for the ANC who can't just rely on running up the margins in rural SA to win elections).

I don't think the voters even care. Just look how quick the same voters are to decry anything that opposes their ANC. Surprised the race card hasn't been played with Dr Ruyter's comments yet.

Sure they care. The anc are regularly losing support.
