Cable theft affecting some sections in fourways, sandton and surroundings areas. No power since 2pm. Heading into the 22:00 - 00:30 slot now. Off again tomorrow from 18:00 to 22:30.

This place is nothing less than a joke. Bet rotating black outs makes it way easier to steal some cables as well.
It's feeding time for some...

Wernt there only 5 IPP OCGTs, or am I being a goldfish...

Edit: Yeah there were only 5. Guess a new one has been built with more on the way :)

Tweet when they were running everything possible
Nope there have always been 6. They just don't seem to use them all the time. They did use 10 of theirs, but they said 5 were out from Ankerlig till March so it must have been 6 from Gourikwa and 1 from Ankerlig plus they've put the 3 from Acacia into them

Looks like the 2000mw buffer is not a thing anymore.

How do you come by that?
28801 - 3918 - 308 = 24575
24770 + 1050 (7xdiesel OCGTs) + 150 (3 kereosene) = 25970 (eskom side) + 900 (6 IPP OCGTs) = 26870
2295 buffer, plus the renewables for gravy.

Are you sure about that? Went pretty far back in his tweets and haven't seen 6 before

Did anybody else's load shedding schedule also shifted 4 hours earlier? Normally once or twice a week the schedule change and every shift is then 2 hours earlier. But today it changed 4 hours earlier. Had load shedding 8pm till 10pm and then 2 hours later again at 00:00.
Todays evening shift that was 8pm and supposed to be 6pm, now starts at 4pm

Today is a new month so the schedule resets to the first day of the month and thus the 1st day of the schedule.

Am I by any chance talking to the person who once did a November 31st on December 1st at City Power?

As noted above, most schedules use a 16/32 day cycle (2 hours earlier every 4 days), but revert to the 1st day at month end. Since February has 28 days, this is equivalent to a 4 hour shift at month end (every other month end is 2 hours earlier).
