JHB is getting very cold, I'm running my heaters at night now, I imagine the same is true for other parts of the country. So worst case let's assume +1000 demand from heating. Last figures from Thursday were 26GW generation, 32GW demand, Stage 6 LS + Stage 2 LC.

With the breakdowns yesterday and today I'm assuming generation is down to well below 24GW again, so assume 23GW again. They can crank the OCGT for 2GW but that's still missing a full GW, so even LC 4 won't make up for the discrepancy. So unless they stick to their guns and we shed well over 7GW and they still call it Stage 6, which I doubt because it's not a small shortfall, they are going to have to institute Stage 7 + LC 4.

It's a running meme we have in the thread, where we have clearly been in stage 7 in the past but eskom only declared Stage 6, so we call it Stage 6+++ for every GW missing (now called LC)
 
Mind you I wouldn't actually be surprised if we shed 8999MW in stage 6 and they just reduce the 2GW buffer to make up for it lol

Jhb is getting very cold?? Wtf this has been an incredibly mild so far, I mean we've not gone down that much. Use a blanket or fix your house.
