That 282mw of wind is pathetic.
What you want them to go talk to them with their hot air? As I've been saying we cannot rely on renewables as we've got 5000mw of wind installed in SA and the most I've seen it hit is 3000mw during the day around evening time it may still be hitting under 2000mw, but after 6pm it drops contrary to what some will say, wind doesn't dramatically improve over evening periods, there might be an hour or so where it might be stronger, but it's not around peak times.
Sun is obviously useless until around 8am.

282/5000 mw? That's crazy. Why so low?

Stupid government, wind farms should be sprouting like mushrooms all over the coastal areas.

Wait till you see the UKs

And that's with close to 30GW installed. So yeah it wouldn't make much of a difference if there is no wind.

I wish they would stop with wind renewables, they so ugly and solar thermal design (tower/mirrors) as they harm the bird life.

Treat renewables like us going off grid and get pv with 3+ days of battery storage (compressed air) plus gas peakers that run on methane from our waste.

Don't forget the blades aren't recyclable and end up in massive "graveyards", the other raw materials needed to make solar panels isn't great for the environment and lets not forget that having CSP requires a backup power for keeping the molten salt, well molten. So you need a peaker for there.
If we had biomass or nuclear that would be more renewable.

Use Nuclear for power & to boil water & make Hydrogen.

Use Hydrogen in cars as fuel & at nightime you can purify saltwater as well when demand drops.

Well technically that's exactly how a nuclear plant works and a coal one :). Make steam, turn turbine.

Yes but coal you have to stoak the fire... Nuclear no need to add fuel just have to figure out what to do with it when you not "making" power.

Well apparently newer plants you can sort of recycle the fuel.

I have faith that we will improve on the pv design and recycling process.
Yes, all those things you said are true.

I'm also against nuclear because in 100 years time we will have people stripping the building (for their shacks) like that plane that crash landed, then we will have real Resident Evil looking mofos running around.

Sewage water is recycled into drinking water elsewhere in the world. I don't see how this has to be a showstopper.
Elsewhere in the world they don`t pump raw sewerage straight into the ocean, they use treatment plants before it goes into the ocean. In a socialist system there is no place for treatment plants.
