Agreed, we need to accept that this is the new norm - have to get our heads around the fact that we will most likely have loadshedding for (hopefully) one week a month for the next few years (hopefully).

We will adapt to the new norm and work around it.

Problem is, the number of people leaving SA (shrinking our skill and tax base) which is what worries me.

My hope is that, when faced with disaster, we are often pushed to find solutions
Future loadshedding schedules:

Power for Gauteng - Mon/Wed/Sun
Power for Natal - Tues/Fri/Sat
Power for NW - Mon/Tue

Etc

Nope :-( that would be something I have to still do, but I might just upgrade to a bigger gennie before I do that, not sure I would want a 2.8kv hooked up
Are you not able to limit the charge current for the gennie input?

Maybe we need a poll - how many here believe the shyte we're being told?
Personally couldn't be bothered further as well now.

Currently in a loadshedding slot...not feeling it.
Have 3 aircons running, pool pump running, boiling the kettle and the battery is also charging.
2pm when the loadshedding slot is done, the geyser will turn on and still mostly run off solar.
Thankful for the sun in Cape Town.

Nice.

All those braindead moonicipalities and eksdom can go suffer, most of us are past the point of giving any more f**ks.
