Us. Joe Public has to get involved, yet again..
Us, "Joe Public" are not the ones voting this government into power and are totally in the minority here. You say "yet again", when was the first time? The people voting for this government couldn't give a flying **** about power stations or anything really except getting free things. Also, the National Key Points Act is what the current administration will use to "protect" themselves from a legal point of view.

Not the place for this debate, but I'll tag along a little.
Firstly, "us" does not mean what you're saying, even if this forum is polarised there's many from all walks of life who'd be willing to put in a bit of help.

Our society has often had to police itself for decades, such as... the existing actual neighbourhood watches.

The people voting for this government couldn't give a flying **** about power stations or anything really except getting free things.
Too many of them, agreed.

Also, the National Key Points Act is what the current administration will use to "protect" themselves from a legal point of view.
They clearly aren't interested in protecting Eskom.

It's a long, difficult road, but this De Ruyter is the right guy for us.
He might be the right guy but what If I told you the issues have nothing to do with the meat bag that sits in the CEO chair?

What if this country’s issues are not even the ANC but the citizens of this country itself? Surely all political parties in SA are just reflections of the cultures and values of those very same citizens that occupy positions in those political parties?

If the values and culture doesn’t change you might as well rename the ANC to something else and call it a day it will remain with the same issues.

We actually need less sh*tty citizens. This is the moral social fabric decay you see in countries like the US where school shooters are rampant.

Starts with small silly acts.

I recall in primary school that big emphasis was placed on keeping the grounds in and around the school clean. If we didn’t comply break time was simply taken away and you had to pick up litter as a whole school.

Are those small acts of order and discipline still enforced?

No society has lasted very long in our known history, just because this modern one is worldwide doesn't necessarily change that.
If it does collapse, it will also lead to new growth, so it is natural it seems.

Are those small acts of order and discipline still enforced?
Thy shalt not discipline snowflakes....

Kzn is contributing as well. its freezing.

I might not have loadshedding tomorrow, but I have all day Eskom maintenance. So I guess I am going to be out and about.

The observers at Eskom most probably saw the graph I posted above, and fudged the numbers so that the graph will show green :p :p :p

But thanks for the correction and update. Will now wait until 11:00~12:00 before checking status.
